Shintokan Hatsugeiko 2026 - January 15-16, 2026 at Shintokan Dojo led by Phil Relnick sensei - Washington state. First major training of the new year at Shintokan.
Shintokan Kagami Biraki 2026 - January 17, 2026 at Shintokan Dojo led by Phil Relnick sensei - Washington state. The annual official opening of the dojo for the new year. Lots of students, family, friends all gathered to welcome the new year, give a hono embu, and share some delicious mizutaki and sake.
Shinseikan Dojo Kagami Biraki - January 11, 2026 - The first kagami biraki for the new Shinseikan Dojo in Woodinville, which opened in July 2025.

Denver Shobukan Jo seminar - Denver, Colorado - April 2026 - Fellow Jodo students gathered in Denver for three days of Jodo training, camaraderie, and good food!
Brazil Jodo Seminar - May 2026 - Will Schutt sensei made his annual trip to the southern hemisphere, to Brazilia. Lots of energetic Jodo training during his week-long visit, followed by lots of energetic eating of the fantastic Brazilian cuisine. And then more Jodo. Always more Jodo!
East Coast Gasshuku at Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania - June 2026 - This was a first time Jodo event for our group at Bryn Mawr and it went off with a bang! And a poke, and a stab, and a slash! Lots of slashes. A fantastic venue filled with enthusiastic Jodo practitioners from the east coast, and one from Washington state 🙂 . Put this on your calendar for June 2027, its going to happen again.
